What's happening with the Wal-Mart Supercenters?

0 responses 0 comments I was just wondering what is happening in the case of the Wal-Mart Supercenters. Are they moving forward or am I going to have to watch the lots on Gosford continue to grow weeds and not jobs for people who need them?
Hi Frederick, I'm afraid so. The court case over the Wal-Mart Supercenter planned at Panama Lane and Highway 99 was settled in June 2005, but the city approvals for that Supercenter and the one in the Gosford Village center were set aside by the courts. At the moment, developers are in the middle of the long process of getting the city to reapprove the projects. Early estimates say it will be at least June 2006 before the projects make it back to the Bakersfield City Council.
