As we enter the final quarter of the school year, many parents are already making plans for next year.

Parents of incoming kindergarteners are especially focusing on where to place their children.

Parents have several options regarding their children’s education. Many will choose the local public school. Others will enroll in a private school.  Some will enroll in Christian schools. And a growing number will opt to educate their child at home in Independent Study Programs.

Decisions regarding the schooling of children are among the most important a parent will ever make. Parents are becoming more and more cautious about where their children attend school. They want important information about the school, the teachers, the curriculum, the school culture and the peer influence. They want a safe environment where their children can grow tall and strong in knowledge and confidence; where they can mature into happy and productive citizens, fully realizing their full potential.

Realizing these ideals can be very difficult. It is clear that America has become a barren landscape in which to rear children. Many of the values parents hold dear and live by are no longer promoted in many of our state-supported schools, forcing parents to explore other options.

A growing number of parents are viewing Christian education as the best option for their children. They are looking for an educational setting that coincides with their personal values and religious faith.

Christian parents recognize that many problems in our society stem from the removal of Judeo-Christian values in which our society was originally rooted. The elimination of God, the Bible, the Ten Commandments, prayer and absolutes of right and wrong from state curriculum are further issues that compel many parents to seek other options.

The objective of Christian schools is to partner with the parent and local church to reinforce Christian values and encourage growth in sound convictions that lead to righteous living.

Christian school educators realize the futility of challenging children scholastically without strengthening them spiritually to meet the task.  Christian schools help children grow by showering them with the personal attention and specific help they need to be successful.

Christian schools provide a safe and orderly learning environment where improper conduct is consistently corrected and good behavior is reinforced and rewarded.

For the children we so dearly cherish, it is crucial that we provide the very best opportunities for them to develop into responsible adults and leaders.

By partnering with the home and church, Christian schools are doing just that.
