Gabrielle Abuyen is a 9-year old, 5th grader at Norris Elementary School of Bakersfield, California. She enjoys chorus, writing, and literature. But most of all, Gaby enjoys practicing martial arts at Han's Tae Kwon Do Academy. Gaby is a Green Belt at Han's Taekwondo and is a member of their tournament team. She is a 2007 Western Regional, Northwestern U.S. Regional Champion and 2008 California State Champion for USA-Taekwondo. She enjoys travelling nationwide with her teammates for competition. At the 2008 California Invitational Taekwondo Championship, Gaby won all her divisions in forms and sparring. Currently, she is training for the Taekwondo Junior Olympic Nationals in 2009 where she will be representing Southwest Bakersfield, California.
