This summer the Bakersfield Grayhound Track Club competed in several track meets in Central and Northern California areas in order to participate in the USA Track & Field (USATF) and the 2008 AAU Junior Olympics held July 11 through 13. Some of our athletes participated in the West Coast AAU Junior Olympics in Reno, Nev.; the USATF National Junior Olympics in Omaha, Neb.; and the AAU National Junior Olympics in Detroit, Mich. May thanks to our coaches: Mark Nichols, Shannon Edwards, Russell Grimes, Jermaine Spence, Danny Alberti, and Libby Tracy. A special thank you to all of our sponsors — without you our trip would not have been possible!

Medals for the West Coast AAU Junior Olympics were given to those who placed first through eighth.
