Twenty-six scuba divers from the Bakersfield area recently returned from a 9 day adventure in the Cayman Islands. The San Joaquin Sport Divers enjoyed 15 dives in the clear, turquoise, warm waters of the Caribbean. We dove with turtles, sharks, octopus, stingrays, eels, Eagle rays, lobsters, and hundreds of kinds of beautiful fish. At 110' below the surface we dove the sunken Russian frigate "Keith Tibbitts", swimming down corridors, through the engine room, and around the guns and turretts. The coral was beautiful, and many of our underwater photographs will be displayed at the Kern County Fair this year.

If anyone needs a dive buddy or would like to join our club to be involved in future dives, feel free to contact Marlys Brimmer at marlysb52@aol.com for more information.
