Calvary Chapel Westbrook will be hosting Legacy’s fourth annual “One Girl’s Passion ... Another Girl’s Pain” women’s purity event. This is an event in which a mother and daughter share the legacy of their cherished daughter and sister, Danielle Marie Gould, who was killed in a tragic car accident Aug. 20, 2004 on Rosedale Highway. A true legacy is one not only left behind for others to cherish, but one that is shared and passed on with the hope of changing and helping another life. Each year we get the opportunity to share Danielle’s legacy on a Saturday close to her earthly death date, or what we like to call Danielle’s new heavenly birthday.

The event is meant to help young women learn about and choose to live a life filled with pure passion rather than guilt and shame. Danielle struggled with so many of her friends who chose to live a life that caused them so much pain. Danielle was passionate about her purity, and it was her desire that she would remain a virgin until her wedding night. Danielle never had her wedding night, but on the night of Aug. 20, 2004 she did meet her “True Groom, Jesus Christ.”

Much has taken place since that hot summer night, and many tears have filled the hearts of all who miss our cherished Danielle. But the joy we receive by sharing her amazing legacy is witnessing another life changed from pain to a joy-filled life as they hear of her passion for life and legacy.

Living a life of purity has now become the passion and desire of Danielle’s oldest sister Dezarei, who has a desire to share her own life, her pain, and choices she has made to offer encouragement and hope that a life of purity is available to anyone — no matter what your past may be. This year’s theme is titled “The Real Me” and is taken from a song by Natalie Grant that speaks of many women who mask who they truly are because of guilt, shame and pain.

My daughter and I encourage all ladies no matter their age or marital status to join us Saturday, Aug. 23, at Calvary Chapel Westbrook, 6501 Schirra Court, as we hear wonderful testimonies, stories, and teachings on purity to help each girl discover that purity is available no matter what she has done and/or no matter what has been done to her. Each girl is of great worth and is loved so much by God. We want you to know that a life of purity is available to you.

Blessed are the     pure in heart for they shall see God.

— Matthew 5:8

Hi Sherrill, I remember you and Danielle from when I was a young box girl at Von's. There was certainly something special about Danielle - always a bounce in her step and a smile beaming. It's so wonderful to see you and Dezarei honoring her positive spirit in a way that will help others.
