July 28-30 — Kern Christian Center presents Power Lab vacation Bible school, open to all children from kindergarten through sixth grade. Registration will close when a max of 120 children is reached. Aug. 15 — A Texas hold ’em tournament sponsored by the Bakersfield Falcons Law Enforcement Football Team will be held at the Golden West Casino, 1001 S. Union Ave., beginning at 5:45 p.m. Tickets are $120 and include a buffet dinner. Players must be 21. Details, call 472-0624.
