There is a jewel of a program in town that is very much a secret to many. But those of us who have discovered it are in for a treat. It's the Bakersfield Music Theater of course! Our family had the extreme pleasure and opportunity to experience this summer's BMT production of Willy Wonka Jr, and what a pure delight it was.
The Harvey auditorium at Bakersfield High School served as the venue for this colorful musical, and I must say, it is certainly a jewel in the rough! Spectacular at the least! Thank you to all of the directors, producers, stage hands, and cast for making this an unforgettable event. Until next year...BREAK A LEG!

Willy Wonka is such a classic story - and I'm sorry to have missed this performance! I'll have to keep an eye on Bakerfield Music Theatre performances.
