In June, The Bakersfield Obedience Training Club donated $1000 to the Kern Humane Society.spay & neuter voucher program.  This month they are going to be donating something like $500.

There are still a lot of people out there that dont know, if you dont have enough money to spay & neuter your pets.. You can go to the  Kern Humane Society.and they will give you a voucher to help pay for it..

Most vets here in Bakersfield except the vouchers,, so more then likely you will be able to take your pet to your own vet...

I would like to challenge all the other dog clubs in town to do the samething..

There are far too many unwanted pets out there already.. This is our way to help out...   Please do your part to help..

When looking for your next pet PLEASE visit your local shelter or rescue group..

If you would like to help out by donating to the Bakersfield Obedience Training Club spay & neuter voucher progam...

You can contact the president ,JoAnne Rowles, at:  jrowles@bak.rr.com

Eddie...sorry I couldn't make it. The next issue of the Northwest Voice is dedicated to pet adoption and spay & neuter, as well as bringing public awareness to the overpopulation problem. Don't forget that we are holding a shelter drive on Aug. 16 in the NW, then we will follow that in the fall with another similar event in the SW at the Kroll Way dog park -- But please join us on Aug. 16.

Wow! What a significant contribution! It's great that the BOTC is making such a difference because there are too many strays.

We are not a big club with a lot of money, we only offer an obedience class twice a year. But its our way to try to help out when we can.. A lot of our members have signed up to help as valunteers at the shelter too. 1 of members just spent a week helping out training groomers at the county shelter,.. I know there are other clubs out there with a lot more members then ours, and run a lot more classes then we do.. That I really hope will do the same thing.. I know there are a few clubs that have classes going all the time.. So I know they have more money then our club.. I challenge them to dontae to the spay & neuter voucher progam.. And remember to valunteer at your local shelters. Eddy
