Employees of TekTegrity, an IT strategies and management company, recently graduated from the world-renowned Dale Carnegie Training course, “Effective Communication and Customer Relations.” Every Thursday and every other Friday for 12 weeks, the 17 employees met with course instructor Jim Pentico. TekTegrity management paid for the course because they wanted to redefine their “techies” as employees capable of effective communication skills and to ultimately improve the experience between employees and clients. “Our goal was to strengthen relations between clients and our employees and allow our employees to approach problems in a way that the client would understand,” said Jeremy Koellish, co-founder and Vice President of TekTegrity. “With our staff we wanted the course to help build relations within the company and help build that kind of self-confidence and camaraderie that is essential to having a successful and positive workplace.” Said Jeff Bower, Senior Account Manager of TekTegrity, “With the evolution of corporate culture, the company has to take steps to make sure that everyone is in line with the established values and vision of the company. Our employees must be able to recite the mission statement and know how they are a function of that statement. This course allowed us to smooth that transition as the company continues to expand and gave our employees further insight into how they fit in the ‘big picture.’ It’s a smart business move and we plan to continue sending more employees through the training.” Dale Carnegie Training, established in 1912, was designed to improve business skills and performance and has had over 7 million students graduate from its courses world wide. “Effective Communication and Customer Relations” is the original course offered by Dale Carnegie Training and is focused on how to think from other person’s perspective. Dale Carnegie’s book, How to win friends and influence people, is one of the most sold books, second only to the Bible.
