Local authors belonging to The Writers of Kern have published their 3rd anthology and it is now on sale at Russos Marketplace. More than 30 members submitted poems, essays, short stories, non-fiction, excerpts from novels, children’s stories, a play, and even sci-fi fiction stories for this anthology As writers they understand they must work at their craft constantly to improve and prepare for publication. They say everyone has one great novel they could write. The thing is; how do you go about getting that novel written, perfected and published?
The Writers of Kern gives aspiring authors the necessary tools to accomplish this mind-boggling task by providing speakers in the field of writing and publishing at their monthly meetings, plus they hold one Workshop every year. They also have several critique groups available for their members.
As a branch of The California Writers Club, The Writers of Kern was founded to bring together professional writers and aspiring writers in a creative and professional atmosphere. Jack London and other authors formed The California Writers Club in 1909.
It is well known that to become an author, you must rely on the help of other authors. Their knowledge will benefit you and your knowledge will benefit them. With that in mind, The Writers of Kern has critique groups for fiction writers, non-fiction, children’s, sci-fi, memoirs, inspirational, poetry, and even screen plays and these groups will help you more than you can imagine.
Check out our new Anthology and you will be amazed at how many talented authors we have in Bakersfield. If you have thought about writing a novel or short stories, but don’t know how to achieve your goal, check out The Writers of Kern. Maybe we can help you complete your dream.
