Greetings, Southwest Bakersfield!  Before I forget, tomorrow (Tuesday) is the deadline for submitting your "stuff" for our next issue.  Remember it this way, when you see the new Voice on the rack or receive it in the mail, the following Tuesday evening is another deadline. A special thanks to Golden Valley HS and the Panama-Buena Vista Union School District for all of their recent submissions!  Keep them coming!

"Take The Voice on Vacation!"

Taking a vacation this summer?  Take The Voice with you, and it could mean fame, fortune and prizes!

Definitely fame and prizes, anyway.

Here's your heads up: During the summer months, we at The Southwest Voice will be publishing occasional and sporadic photos of our loyal Southwest Voice readers, who took their Voice on vacation.  Take an issue with you to Yosemite, on the Colorado River, take it to Hawaii, Disneyland (can you get Mickey to hold it??).  Let us see The Voice in funny locations (maybe with the Statue of Liberty in the background!).  You can make your loyal and hard-working editor happy by taking The Voice to Fenway Park!  Can you get a celebrity to hold it for a photo??  MAKE THE JUDGING TOUGH ON US!  I want to see amazing photos and see where our paper has traveled!

The contest is open all summer, and we will announce a winner when school is back in session.

Subscription iPod winner!

The Southwest Voice is proud to announce Patty Scott as the winner of our iPod giveaway!  Patty came down to the extremely large and plush offices of The Southwest Voice last week and retrieved her prize.  Look for a photo in the upcoming issue!
