The high school softball season is off to a great start and Bakersfield has got some strong competitors. This year’s Redwood Invitational Softball Tournament held February 27th through March 1st in Tulare, and Ridgeview, Stockdale, and Centennial made sure Bakersfield’s presence was felt. With 15 of the top softball teams in central California at the tournament, the competition was strong.
After three days of pool play, Ridgeview was seeded number two, Stockdale was number three and Centennial was number seven. A disappointing lose to Golden West eliminated Stockdale Saturday morning. Ridgeview and Centennial faced each other in the semifinal game with Centennial winning 2 to 1, who then went on to win the tournament.
