CES Offers Neighborhood Environmental Report
Now Available for Residential Properties

Bakersfield, CA (FEB 26, 2008) --

“When I arrived…I observed the…sheriffs department redirecting traffic, and the fire department…evacuating the area.” “I told them that the well had released crude oil.”

“The wife stated that she had been really close to closing a deal to sell the home for $750,000…she was sure that it would not sell for the value quoted.“

Robert was concerned about the perception of the neighborhood and their… exposures.”

The above statements are pertinent excerpts from an official Kern County Environmental Health Services report relating to a single hazardous materials incident that occurred here in Bakersfield. The names have been altered to respect the privacy of those involved.

If you are an existing homeowner or preparing to buy or sell a home in our community, you now have the opportunity to conduct a uniquely thorough and inexpensive property inspection that will help protect your health and investment. As a premier provider of environmental lifestyle consulting services in the region, I am pleased to announce that CES will now be offering the Neighborhood Environmental Report™ (NER) among our services. The NER identifies previously undetected and potentially harmful risks such as leaking underground tanks, landfills, toxic waste sites, and even former methamphetamine labs on or near any location that may threaten your family’s well-being or the future value of your property.

These economical reports are comprehensive, easy to read, and tailored to meet the growing demand for pre-purchase information used by title companies, loan brokers, real estate professionals, and home-buyers as well as sellers. Each site-specific report is generated from several nationwide sources, including the largest collection of local, state, federal and proprietary environmental records in the country. A thorough NER will disclose important information on known, potential and suspected contamination that exists on, or adjacent to a specified property.

It’s exciting to work with Environmental Data Resources (EDR) and make this valuable service available to the community at large. EDR was established in 1991 and is headquartered in Milford, Connecticut. As the leading provider of environmental information services in the United States, their innovative solutions help customers assess and manage environmental risk.

Ninety-three percent of these reports confirm a property’s clean bill of health and it goes a long way to inspire the confidence of both existing homeowners, and those thinking about buying or selling a property. Furthermore, it benefits everyone involved in the real estate transaction to uncover any potential environmental problems up front, as opposed to retroactively addressing concerns after a sale has been completed. As EDR-Certified partners, we at CES are able to offer the follow-up guidance consumers need to resolve any issues the report may reveal.

Environmental due diligence has been an integral part of commercial real estate transactions for nearly 20 years. Now, existing homeowners and anyone interested or involved in the residential real estate market can benefit from the same type of environmental due diligence formerly available only to business and industrial developments.
