On December 8th, 2007, the Pathfinder District of the Southern Sierra Council of the Boy Scouts of America, convened it annual Business Meeting and Election of Officers.

 

David Couch, Bakersfield City Councilman and member of Troop 194, which meets at Christ Church of the Valley, was unanimously elected by the Pathfinder District Committee, District Members at Large, Unit Commissioners, and Nominating Committee to assume the position as District Chairman elect.

 

 

His elected term, if approved by the Southern Sierra Council’s Executive Board, will be three years beginning January 25th, 2008.

 

As District Chairman, David will lead a group of volunteers to run the overall functions of the district, including membership recruiting and retention, fundraising, training of adult volunteers, and advancement by the youth through Eagle Scout.   

 

 

He will become a member of the Southern Sierra Council Executive Board.

 

 

If approved, David will replace Richard Kemp, the District Chairman, who has served in this position for the last six years.
