Every Saturday during the school year, volunteers read stories to elementary school children at the
Southwest Branch Library, near Ming Avenue and Gosford Road, at 10:30 a.m. At this program, called Grandma’s Attic, a variety of stories and subjects — such as pirates, fairy tales, animals, knights and castles, and others — are offered.
Each Saturday is different! An antique trunk holds a surprise for each child who attends. Children are invited to attend any Saturday they can and to bring their friends and families! Programs are about 45 minutes long, and are held in an upstairs room at the Southwest Branch Library. All children are encouraged to get their own library cards, and check out books to take home with them.
