If you're on the lookout for an action-packed, no-holds-barred thriller, then look no further than "You Can Run But You Can't Hide." This isn't your average suspense tale, though. It's an epic of awe-inspiring proportions, written by the star of "Dog the Bounty Hunter" on A&E. That's right, it's Dog's life story, written by the bounty hunter himself. The tale is no stroll through Lollipop Road, though. You'll be amazed by his story as soon as it begins. I know I was thoroughly fascinated by the introduction, immediately drawn into Dog's vibrant prose and the chaotic events.
Once Dog's tale begins, there's no escape. You'll be breathless as he endures torment in the grip of merciless classmates, takes up drugs and battles with his father — all within the first fifty pages. You'll be horrified by the circumstances that lead to one of Dog's most critical decisions. You'll cry as Dog seeks affection from his father, only to end up with bruises and brutal lessons. The action doesn't end there, though. If you survive Dog's first years, you'll be exposed to his dangerous life as a gangster, his traumatic encounters with the police and his unstable relationships.
Fortunately, light dwells in the midst of this overwhelming darkness. Readers will be moved by Dog's relationship with God and his attachment to the Holy Bible. They'll be able to relate to our hero as his faith suffers temporary setbacks, all of which are born because of Dog's most heartbreaking situations. They'll love following the bounty hunter as his relationship with the Holy Father deepens and perhaps they'll nurture their own relationship with God. Witnessing Dog's profound spirituality certainly heightened my love for the Holy Father and that alone speaks volumes because my devotion to the Father is already high.
If you crack up whenever someone breaks off a sarcastic remark, you'll adore Dog's unique charm. Right from the very beginning, he pulls you into an unstoppable vortex of fast-paced wit, supplying you with an impressive array of wisecracks. When the situation calls for it, though, he turns away from the ironic wit and turns to lyrical sorrow. There's one tragedy after another in this biography, and Duane Dog Chapman puts you right at the heart of each predicament.
"You Can Run But You Can't Hide" supplies its readers with heart-stopping adrenaline, horror, romance, angst and beautiful spirituality. This story has the word "blockbuster" written all over it, and it was written by an engaging criminal-turned-hero. If you're in the midst of your darkest hour and need to have your faith in the Holy Father restored, this is the tale for you. If you're simply in the mood for a beautifully written, inspirational and suspenseful escapade, then you too can take a ride with Dog. Trust me, you'll have the time of your life.
