The Bakersfield Voice

The Bakersfield Art Association is sponsoring an art exhibit and competition to run from October 30 through November 25 at their Gallery of Art in the East Hills Mall. Artists / fine craftsmen over the age of 18 are encouraged to create original empty vessels (or containers) using hand-built ceramics, glass, weaving, fiber, wood, metal, plastic, mixed media, and/or take photographs of empty vessels; and/or paint paintings in all mediums, including collage, mixed media, mono-prints of empty vessels. Monetary and merchandise awards will be offered.  All artwork must be submitted on October 27 or 28.  A prospectus can be picked up at the gallery which gives further information.  Hours are 11:00 – 5:00 daily except Mondays.
