Margaret lived in the southwest for over 60 years.  She has two children and four grandchildren. Margaret was active in church and loved to play canasta.  This recipe for Popcorn Balls was submitted by Margaret’s daughter Diane.

 

                                  

                                  Margaret’s Popcorn Balls

 

2 quarts popped corn

1 c granulated sugar

1/3 c water

½ c corn syrup

1 tsp salt

¼ c butter

1 tsp vanilla

 

Combine sugar, water, corn syrup, salt and butter in a saucepan.  Cook to

250* or until a few drops form a hard ball when dropped in cold water.

Add vanilla.  Pour quickly over popped corn .  Form into 10-12 balls.
