James has lived in the Southwest for the last 28 years. He is employed at Fraver Machine Shop. He is very active in his church, Valley Bible Fellowship. This was a favorite recipe as a child, then the recipe got lost. His mom tried to duplicate it from memory, but it was never the same. It was recently found in an old box, so James now keeps a copy on hand.



            SWEET-N-SOUR SAUSAGE

 

1 T oil                                  1 T brown sugar

1 smoked sausage (sliced)                 1/2 Tsp garlic powder

1/2 cup diced green pepper                1 T corn starch

1/2 Cup diced onion                       1 Can pineapple chunks                                       

2 stalks thinly sliced celery             Cooked Rice

1 Can cut-Up tomatoes

 

Brown Sausage in large skillet over medium heat. Add green pepper, onion, & celery to Stir Fry 1 or 2 minutes. Add can tomatoes & stir until warm.

Add brown sugar & garlic powder. Drain pineapple chunks reserving juice.

Mix corn starch into pineapple juice. Add to meat & stir until thick.

Add pineapple chunks & heat. Serve over hot rice.
