The Southwest Voice

I believe my son, Sammy Banuelos, is the best candidate for the Southwest Voice Athelete of the Month for his dedication, his love for sports and his ability to be a team player. He is 14 years old and loves football and track.

Sam played Golden Empire Tackle Football for four years and made All Stars and his team won. He has also been involved in track for five years. Last year he took first place at the PBVSD track meet in Taft in the 100 meter and 200 meter.

Next year he will play football and run track for West High School.

Sam's dedication shines when he is out on the field. He is respectful to his coaches and is a big influence on his teammates. He is always there to help out when needed. My son has the gold heart of a true athlete, in my book he's the athlete of the year.
