Diner-mite
On Dec. 15 at 6 p.m., Dustin’s Diner will open for its 14th year in Haggin Oaks, selling apple cider, hot chocolate and two kinds of cookies for $1. All sales benefit the Bakersfield Homeless Center.
My Favorite Ornament Photo Contest
Before you hang them lovingly on the tree, share them with your neighbors! Whether it's Baby's First Christmas, handmade by grandma or a souvenir from a fabulous vacation, everyone has a holiday ornament that's special. Or maybe it's a menorah, dreidel or Kwanzaa symbol. Entries are due by Wednesday, Dec. 20, for publication in the Dec. 27 print edition. The winner will receive a $50 gift certificate to Target.
