Recently I moved to Bakersfield from Sacramento with permission and mandate from Bishop Richard Seminack, Bishop of St. Nicholas in Chicago for Ukrainians, to establish a Byzantine Greek Catholic Mission in the Bakersfield area.
I’ve secured use of the Holy Trinity Chapel at Mercy Hospital on Truxtun Avenue for Sunday Mass at 10 a.m. and Holyday Divine Liturgy for this Holy Trinity Byzantine Greek Catholic Mission.
The next Divine Liturgy will be on Sunday, Nov. 19, at 10 a.m. For parking on Sundays, use the hospital’s Truxtun Avenue entrance, turning in at the Holy Trinity Chapel sign on the Marian Building. Parking will  also be available along Truxtun Avenue or across the street in parking lots.
All Byzantine Greek Catholics — Ukrainians, Byelorussians, Romanians, Rusyns, and all other Byzantine rite Catholics — are invited to join in forming a stable parish here.  I have brought some icons, a cross, and other liturgical needs with me. However, we need a cantor, or cantors, and servers for the liturgy.
Pray for our mission to reach all Greek Catholic individuals in the Bakersfield metropolitan area.
For more information, call me at 396-8852 between 10 a.m. and 6 p.m.
