An morning of high-energy  music and hijinks wiil be brought to students from Amy B Seibert  Elementary School,  Actis Jr High School,  Warren Jr High School,  Stockdale High School  and West High School   Monday, October 30 at Rabobank Theater by Three Men and a Tenor.

Three Men and a Tenor has performed in nearly 1000 schools over the last 11 years, stressing to over one million young people across America the importance of following their dreams.

Students will be given a hour show packed with hilarious spontaneous moments.  Students will clap, sing, and dance along with the music.  The “Three Men”, Chuck Colby (lead), Mark Stiles (lead), and Paul Felch (bass) are all 6’4”, and Glenn Williams is the 5-foot “Tenor”.

When performing in front of a school audience, the men try to encourage students to succeed not only academically but also in athletics and the arts.  The best part of a school audience is “The energy of kids,” said Glenn.  Paul said, “For me personally, it’s the transitional phase that happens.”  He enjoys seeing those less enthused get excited as the show progresses.

These guys created 3MT in 1992, when they were students at Michgan State University and in the Men's Glee Club, and have gone on to international notoriety. Recently named the "Best Entertainment in Michigan-2006" by the Michigan Meetings and Events Magazine, this very popular foursome have proved that they have incredible talent, and staying power. For 15 years, they have entertained all kinds of audiences and even made their very own Emmy-award winning PBS-TV show with Detroit Public Television in 2003.

They have shared the stage with American legends like Chuck Berry, Dionne Warwick, Bob Newhart, Peter Cetera, Pat Boone, Lee Greenwood and The Beach Boys.

One of the group’s greatest experiences was in May 2004, when they embarked on a 12-day tour of eight U.S. military bases in Germany. The group performed 23 shows in eight days, drove 3,000 miles, and even visited Landstuhl Hospital, where they were able to sing for wounded soldiers, just off of the front lines of Iraq and Afghanistan. The group paid for their own flights, lodging and meals. General Motors provided the rental of two vehicles and the funds for the sound system needed for the tour. It was the perfect partnership to boost the morale of the families of our troops overseas. Due to overwhelming request, the group  returned  in May 2006 to do the tour again, but this time seven different bases were involved, and even the German citizens  received a “Three Men and a Tenor” concert, when the group performed a public concert at the Castle Borbeck in Essen, Germany.

Three Men and a Tenor is a remarkable representation of what is possible if you love what you do. The guys made a pact early on to keep the entertainment fun for all ages and to always make an effort to help audiences leave feeling better than when they came. These guys are just what America needs right now, at a time when it is important that we remember our sense of family and fun!

The morning concert  at Rabobank Theater is funded by the Student Outreach Program of the Bakersfield Community Concert Association.

Three Men and a Tenor  will bring their  high-energy, vocal music show to Rabobank Theater on Monday, October 30 at 7:30pm. The hilarious, a cappella  concert is being presented by the Bakersfield Community Concert Association and tickets are available  by calling (661)326-0838. Further event information  can be found on the BCCA’s website at www.geocities.com/communityconcert/.
