Dear Editor and Southwest Voice community,

Do you love animals, care about our county’s abandoned and euthanized pets, and want to connect with other dedicated, fun-loving volunteers?

Friends of the Kern County Animal Shelters Foundation is a nonprofit organization formed to assist the shelters in improving the welfare and treatment of companion animals in Kern County.

Friends is already working in many ways to improve conditions for Kern County animals. With your help, we can do even more!

Our current activities include off-site animal adoptions; blanket and toy drives; informational and fundraising booths; working with other organizations to increase the spay and neuter rate of Kern County pets; and more.

If you share our desire to see every companion animal in a loving, life-long home, please contact us. No matter what your areas of expertise, your ideas and enthusiasm can be put to good use at the Friends Foundation.

Please write or e-mail us to find out about attending our next meeting:

Sincerely,

Carol Onsum-Pierce
