Bakersfield Bobby Sox 10U team takes third at Nationals

0 responses 0 comments In the 100-degree heat in Fairfield, Calif., the Bakersfield Bobby Sox 10 and under softball team battled for three days against teams from Hawaii, Long Beach, La Mirada, Fairfield and Vacaville, ending in a third-place finish in the Bobby Sox Softball Tournament of Champions.

The Bobby Sox first victory was against Hawaii with a 13-1 win. From there they suffered a loss to Heartwell, putting them in the losers’ bracket, but they battled back with three consecutive wins, putting them in the semi-finals before a 4-11 loss to Vacaville took them out of the tournament.

The Bakersfield 10 and under All-Stars did an excellent job representing Bakersfield at the tournament and are looking forward to next year's tournament in Buena Park, Calif. In 2008 the Tournament of Champions will be held in Hawaii. Aloha!
