Each week, New Life Center Senior Pastor James Ranger delivers strong messages of Jesus’ love and how living for Him makes us truly free. Now, the church is putting wheels to its faith so that message can be heard throughout the valley on local television and around the world through the Internet.
With the generous donation of a 2006 Volkswagen Jetta by Jose Arredondo of Family Motors, the church is selling raffle tickets for the car for a minimum donation of $50 (some people have given thousands of dollars for their ticket). The drawing will be Sunday, May 21. The church estimates it needs $60,000 to $80,000 to purchase the necessary equipment. In addition to donating the car for the raffle, Arredondo pledged his company will pay for the messages to go on the airwaves for the first five years IF enough money is raised for the equipment.
Here’s how Bakersfield’s Southwest community can get involved. If you want to see compelling and relevant services hit the airwaves –– or if you just need a new car –– you can head to the church to purchase a ticket. Remember, the more money you donate for your ticket, the more you’re helping the church reach its goal. And, as always, the doors to the church are open to minister to your soul.
New Life Center is at 4201 Stine Road, at the southwest corner of White Lane and Stine Road. The church office is open from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday. You can call 831-2727 for more information.
