57th Wedding Anniversary

July 21st, 2008 was a special day for my parents, Johnny and Dorothy Tune, as they celebrated their 57th wedding anniversary. They met in Arkansas, where they married and had five children within the next six years. In the coming years, they would pack up everything they had into an old Studebaker and move to California. They settled in Norwalk where they resided until moving to Bakersfield after all the kids had grown up. Although they have had their fair amount of hard times over the years, they continue their love and devotion to each other. These days Johnny enjoys his gardening and pets. Dorothy has navigated her way into cyberspace and enjoys her games and surfing the internet. May they have many more special days in the future.

Lauren Kendall Franks: Hawk Hero of the Month for May, 2008

Lauren Kendall Franks, finishing the second grade at Leo B. Hart Elementary School, was named Hawk Hero of the Month for May, 2008; the award honors the best all-round student in the school.

Lauren's proud parents are David and Kelli Franks; her baby brother, Connor, is also very pleased, as are her paternal grandparents Jim and Melissa Franks, formerly of Bakersfield and now living in Houston.

Lauren's maternal grandparents, Victor and Linda Lasseter, are proud of her but also sad that Lauren and her family are moving to Phoenix in June.
