Third Annual Classic Fun Car and Bike Show

What a wonderful event for car enthusiasts! I never expected to see such a large display and variety of cars at a local school event - I was impressed!!

The Third Annual Classic Fun Car and Bike Show & Craft Fair was held at Van Horn Elementary School off California on 3/29/08 from 9am to 3pm. I didn't get to go til about 1:00pm but I did stay til it was over . That turned out to be the highlight of my day when everyone started their motors! The feel and sound of power from those unparalleled muscle cars added to their beauty as they tried to harness their horses and glide slowly out the gate. The antique cars glided gracefully in turn, with their owners as elegant as their rides. Of course, the hydraulics put on a show as only they can by dancing by the crowds and bouncing thru the gateway.

There were also several different style motorcycles, from the classic Harley to the racing Triumph. And for the younger set, there were the pimped out street bikes with as many hours of work as their motor-driven counterparts.

he cars were a big part of the school event - there was also a craft fair, raffles, food and entertainment for the children and young at heart.

Photos provided here are from various members of the KERN PHOTOGRAPHY ASSOCIATION. Several of us were able to go throughout the day and I think many captured the beauty, style and simplicty of days gone by.

The KPA group meets is a new local group that meets at least once a month for ideas, tips and field trips, mostly local, but with a few longer trips in the near future. Anyone with an interest in photography is welcome to check the site & become part of the group. We also are forming a new Junior Group for those under 18. The site offers forums and discussions, critique & ideas and an overall place to learn and teach from each other.

Golden Valley cheerleaders compete at PPAACC 3-15-08

Golden Valley, South and Foothill High Schools competed at the local PPAACC competition held March 15 at Frontier High School. All teams performed well and with lots of enthusiasm!

PPAACC holds several all-day competitions covering cheer, dance, band and color guard. They are all wonderful to watch but the most excitement comes at the finals
