If you remember your time in Cub Scouts as den meetings, fun activities and cake bakes, you will still find that in the program today.But all successful programs change with the times, and Scouting is no exception!  Boy Scout programs continue to involve merit badges, outdoor skills and camping experiences, but there are new and exciting opportunities for both boys and girls in many areas.The Fleur-de-Lis Skateboarding Contest is the newest activity to emerge in Scouting this year. Sponsored by Southern Sierra Council BSA, Element Skateboards, Elemental Awareness and Woodward West, this open contest is for boys and girls of all ages and ability levels.  The upcoming Bakersfield segment of this contest is on April 8 and costs $5 to enter. Registrants do not have to be members of Scouting to participate. The top winners in each division will receive an invitation to the championship event at Woodward West on April 15 to compete for a year’s supply of Element...
