Mrs. Lynn Patricia Ward is pleased to announce the engagement of her daughter, Lauren Louise, to Jeremy Helper, the son of Dr. Stephen and Dr. Susan Helper. Lauren is also the daughter of the late Richard L. “Dick” Ward.Lauren is a 1998 graduate of Garces Memorial High School, and a magna cum laude graduate of the University of Southern California. She was elected to Phi Beta Kappa, and holds a bachelor’s degree in English, Class of 2002. She is the editor of The Northwest Voice newspaper.Jeremy is a 1998 graduate of Garces Memorial High School. He graduated in 2002 with a Bachelor of Science in business management from Arizona State University, where he was Student Body President his senior year. He is the owner of Bakersfield Building Maintenance Company. A June 3, 2006, ceremony is planned for Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church, followed by a reception at Bakersfield Country Club. After honeymooning in Tahiti, the couple will make their home in Bakersfield.
