On Saturday, June 7, 2008, the Kern Autism Network will present “Nutrition and Eating Problems with the Autistic Population,” a workshop led by Michele Chynoweth, RD, CDE. The workshop will be held at the Kern County Superintendent of Schools office, 1300 - 17th Street, Room 1B, in Bakersfield, from 9 a.m. until noon.
Chynoweth is a registered dietitian and certified diabetes educator. She has spent nearly 20 years working with families with special health care needs including the past nine years as a member of the Kern Regional Center Collaborative Feeding Clinic.
In April 2007 she presented “Feeding Clinics in Alternate Settings” to the California Dietetic Association. She is a member of the Behavioral Health and Nutrition Dietetic Practice Group (DPG) of the American Dietetic Association (ADA) and task force committee member of the American Association of Diabetes Educators (AADE) Position Statement on Disabilities and Diabetes...
