My son Johnny Carter was featured in the Youth Sports Section of The Bakersfield Californian a few years ago as an up and coming track star. He has excelled greatly in track and field since that time. He is now a bronze medalist for the 2007 Junior Olympic Games in the Triple Jump, his jump was -- 41' - 07.25. He jumped at the Kern Invitational this past friday (March 28, 2008) and jumped 46' -- he is a fourteen year old freshmen at Ridgeview High School.
His Coach says:
I am Coach Kim Jenkins of Team Raw Track Club (Also Liberty High School of Bakersfield Jumps Coach), I have been training Johnny for years now and he has finally achieved some of his goals. Last summer he went 41' 7" in the J.O.'s at Walnut CA as a 13 year old Youth Jumper, well he is now in High school and "Wow" he has exploded. I'm hoping to have him in the Arcadia meet and Mt.
