This year, Christ’s Church of the Valley is introducing a new holiday tradition to the city of Bakersfield. In cooperation with Bakersfield Rescue Mission, Christmas Wonder will be presented Dec. 14 to 16, from 5:30 to 9 p.m. on the campus of Christ’s Church of the Valley. Each evening will be filled with the sights and sounds of the season.
This event, designed with the entire family in mind, is comprised of four different “lands”. Christmas Central is a medieval village where local performing groups entertain, snow magically falls from the sky every 30 minutes and you can decorate and eat your very own gingerbread cookie. In the Christmas Theatre, experience a live comic retelling of “The Gifts of the Magi”, an instrumental ensemble playing your favorite Christmas songs and a musical adventure of the biblical “Wise Men” and how they ended up at the manger.
