Although Summer is winding down and the kids are back to school, there is still plenty of time to enjoy your outdoor space. This is one of the many benefits of living in California.
Whether large or small, extravagant or simple, we love our outdoor spaces! Having been an apartment dweller for many years, a small outdoor patio has become my favorite. When it comes to designing or decorating them, the possibilities are endless. Here are a few suggestions for dressing up a small patio.
Start with an area rug. There are many on the market these days, which are specially designed for outdoor use. Or if your budget is tight, shop yard sales and thrift stores. You will be surprised at how much warmth a rug can bring to your space.
Next, add a table. You can use a round one or square. It doesn't have to be fancy, just make sure it's the right scale for your space. Now dress that table up just like you would indoors, with a bright colored table cloth. Or layer fabrics, table...
