Lots of Christian believers have had this experience by going on a short-term mission trip.
This summer, small teams of common people — like stay-at-home moms, doctors, retired teachers, college students, widows, and children, all with passion for their faith — will put their everyday lives on hold for a few weeks to embark on such adventures. The Oaks Community Church, 10200 Campus Park Drive, has partnered with several foreign countries to further the gospel in a variety of ways. Primarily, these teams will help operate a medical clinic in Nigeria, teach English to school children in Thailand, and minister to missionary families in Spain.
