The Central Valley Communities for Children AmeriCorps program is currently accepting applications for 40 full-time members for the 2007-2008 program year. It offers a great opportunity to earn money for college, help tutor children in Kern County and gain valuable experience.
AmeriCorps is ideal for anyone interested in careers in education, counseling or human services, but is open to any U.S. citizen, U.S. national, or permanent resident alien ages 17 and older regardless of career choice or need for financial aid. Applicants must have graduated from high school or earned a GED before the start of the term. The application deadline is May 18.
There are several positions available in Bakersfield, Delano, Wasco, Lost Hills, Buttonwillow and Lamont.
