The Central Valley Council of the American Business Women’s Association is funding four special scholarships through the Stephen Bufton Memorial Educational Fund. The fields of study to be awarded are nursing, liberal studies, business, criminal justice or teaching credential, and the scholarships will be awarded in the amount of $2,000 each for two students at Cal State Bakersfield and $1,000 each for students at Bakersfield College. The guidelines are: 1. Scholarships will be a one-time issuance and are not automatically renewable. 2. Checks for approved candidates are issued to the educational institution for the recipient. 3. Funds are limited to tuition, books and fees. 4. Association members or individuals who are related to members of the association may apply.
