I found out when I was 18 that I was originally given a label:  “Baby Girl Holland.” It’s an eye-opening thing to see your birth certificate with the names of the parents who have adopted you in order to provide you with a new life. Technically, I guess you could say that my adopted mother did give birth to me. I’d just like to thank the Chaffee family for making a difference in a child’s life. There are those who utilize the system simply to receive funds, but the Chaffees have opened their home, their hearts,  and their minds to understanding the needs of children like Emily and Samantha. Had they not, there is no telling how these girls would have turned out. Giving them a real home, with true love and understanding, provides them with protection and a sense of emotional and mental stability. Others who are embarrassed by the word “adoption” have absolutely no clue how much it can do for a child bouncing through the system....
