I'm sorry that you are so resentful and you seem to be a very unhappy person. I've been around a long time and the one thing I've learned is things don't always go my way. I'm not pleased with some of the election, but from the time I was young I knew The United States of America has always been, MAJORITY RULE.

Well, I just found the courts ruling on this matter. As of October 22, 2008 The court declared that Senator Obama is not a "natural born" or "naturalized" United states citizen and is inelligible to run for president. To read about it follow this link: http://dockets.justia.com/docket/court-paedce/case_no-2:2008cv04083/case_id-281573/

read document 27 to see the verdict.

Obama was born in Hawaii. Since when Hawaii NOT in the United States? Being sued for a false claim isn't newsworthy.

Examples of more important news:
- Iraqi forces have assumed control of the province of Babil.
- Number of American suicides is climbing due to economic stress.
- Somali pirates have threatened to kill the crew of the Ukrainian ship they hijacked if NATO forces attack.
- A fire broke out on the Sepulveda Pass. Firefighters won the battle after nearly eight hours. Traffic on the 405 flows just fine today.

Dear Admin,

Thanks for your update on this matter. Unfortunatley, Snopes does not decide the outcome of the current court case. They claim that "simular law suits" have been filed against John McCain and Dick Cheney but were not successful. While this may be true, the outcome of Obama's lawsuit has not been determined. So, as it stands the courts are still investigating. It will be their assessment of this that will matter.

So the question still stands... Why has the main stream media not been covering this? And when will they begin?

This is very interesting and it seems to have sparked a lot of discussion all over the web, proving just how important this election is to the people of America.

When I googled the words "Obama" and "citizenship" the first hit took me to Snopes.com - a website dedicated to debunking urban myths & rumors. They found allegations that Obama is not a natural citizen to be false. Go to http://www.snopes.com/politics/obama/citizen.asp

Think Snopes.com is right?

It's a great place to find really unique jewelry that you can bet no one else has because so many of the pieces are really mini art projects that are one of a kind. It's also a great site to shop for gifts.

Don’t tell a child, ‘You’re smart!’

Luck is not a consequence of hard work. I wish we could have heard Jefferson actually say the words to hear the intention behind them, which I choose to take as a tongue-in-cheek knock on relying on luck alone. My children are both smarter than their age would indicate and I do (proudly) tell them that. It's not as much praise as it is accountability, although praise is definitely a part of it. They are smart enough to KNOW that they are smart without me telling them. They know, because of conversations we have had about it, that they need to use that head start they've been given to excel even further. If I don't acknowledge that they are smart, they might just skate by in mediocrity, knowing they don't have to try as hard as everyone else. It also is a reminder on days when they don't feel as successful as other days. "Hey, son, you're a smart kid. You'll figure this out."

Everyone is gifted. "Smart" is knowing how to use your gifts. A teacher throwing out a statement like "90% of us are not gifted" could have a much more detrimental effect on a child than discussing the merits of "smarts."

It's a bad habit to get into, to start keeping your opinion of your children from them. Where should we draw the line. Maybe we shouldn't tell our children we love them for the same reason? Maybe we shouldn't point out their poor choices because we don't want to hurt their feelings? How many truths should we withhold?

To assume the possibility that my children might be a part of the mythical ungifted 90% and then to treat them that way would be extremely condescending and borderline irresponsible parenting.I'm all for seeking out the best child-rearing practices to give them the best chance to succeed, but I can't give any credit to the suggestions of this study as being good parenting methods.

Hi!I'm new to your online community but I already like the feel of a "family" here.. Not so much of a blogger but I've been forwarded your article which I so much appreciated and I felt like responding. What's so exciting about all this is that we, our production company WorldFlix, is making a movie on Glen's life which I hope will be as thrilling for people to know as for me to be part of the making of it! It's been an interesting journey so far as we have an Oscar winning director, Roger Christian, very interested in the project as well as a Hollywood A-list writer and his name is Kevin Bernhardt. I thought like sharing this with anyone who might have interested in just learning that actually Glen is sooo big that Hollywood makes a movie on him! I find that pretty striking - so to speak in Glen's words...:). Or maybe someone feels like getting involved in our feature film project. Also, in response to your letter below, actually all that happened in 2001, right after 9/11 - and I'm referring to Glen Heggstad's capture in South America by the rebel army ELN, as well as his around the world trip that was in 2004 and a second book on that incredible journey is coming out I think later this year. I had the pleasure to read through some of the 400+ pages book and it's like... you're right there.Anyhow, enuff said! I hope to be receiving some sort of feedback and I'm very happy to answer any questions in regards to the action/adventure bio pic on Glen's amazing life. This is coming from the City of Angels, Downtown.Cheers,Nicole Spaar aka. Swiss MissProducer on THE UNTITLED GLEN HEGGSTAD PROJECT

We are not a big club with a lot of money, we only offer an obedience class twice a year. But its our way to try to help out when we can.. A lot of our members have signed up to help as valunteers at the shelter too. 1 of members just spent a week helping out training groomers at the county shelter,..
I know there are other clubs out there with a lot more members then ours, and run a lot more classes then we do.. That I really hope will do the same thing..
I know there are a few clubs that have classes going all the time.. So I know they have more money then our club..
I challenge them to dontae to the spay & neuter voucher progam..

And remember to valunteer at your local shelters.

Here's my countdown of the top ten songs of all time from my iPod.

10. Battleflag - Lo Fidelity Allstars

This song is irreverent, provocative, and has a great beat.

9. Semi Charmed Life - Third Eye Blind
or
Breakfast at Tiffany’s - Deep Blue Something

I can't decide.

8. Baby Can I Hold You - Tracy Chapman

This is a very simple song that is simply beautiful. It’s about regret, forgiveness, and reconciliation.

7. Pink Houses - John Cougar

When I hear this song, I think of my parents and what they’ve had to go through over the years to make a living for us. I just feel lucky to live in the good ole U.S.A.

6. Searchin’ My Soul - Vonda Shepard

I love the lyrics, the song, and Ally McBeal so this one was my theme song during my reporting days.

5. But Not Tonight - Depeche Mode

My sister and I both really like this Depeche Mode song. I like the idea that some rainfall can re-awaken your spirit and renew your lust for life.

4. Cry - Faith Hill

I’m a huge Faith Hill fan and “Cry” is one of my favorites.

3. U2 - Running to Stand Still

The original album version of this song is so amazing. I think we all have vices that tend to control us from time to time. Whether it be drugs, food, or the television, sometimes we go so far the other way that it’s hard to turn back. No matter how far we run, we’re still running to stand still.

2. Freedom - George Michael

This song is my happy anthem. I don’t know what it is about this song that just lifts my spirits.

1. Queen/Bowie Under Pressure

The video is incredibly strange, yet visually arresting, but it’s a damn great song. Sometimes you just feel like screaming, but then you realize that we’re all in this together, going through the same fears, frustrations, joys, and heartaches in life. This is ourselves, under pressure.

At the Dog Park

As a dog trainer of over 30 years.
And have worked with many dogs and tought many obedience classes..
Most dog fights at dog parks can be avoided by keeping yourself & your dog moving..
Do not gather in big groups around the gate or anything.. Give your dog room to get a way from the other dogs and have their own space..
Anytime there are to many dogs in one spot there is always going to be fights.
Pretty much is true for people or any living thing for that matter..
If you want to take your dog to the dog parks & visit with everyone.. Then the best thing to do is keep walking around & keep yourself & your dog moving.
I have seen many dog fights at dog parks. Many dogs getting hurt & a few being killed. & owners being bit..
Because to many people gathered in one spot, that could of been avoided..
Not to mention it makes it just that much harder for people trying to get in & out of the gate, when there are 10 or 15 dogs infront of it..
Dogs are pack animals, & in a pack like that. There will be fights to find the pack leader..
Be save, keep yourself & your dog moving..

The agressive dogs are bad enough, but in the case that I am referring to, when the people just will not listen, then it gets bad. When I was still going there on a regular basis I met a woman that always brought a small stun gun in with her... just in case. Looking at it now, I would wonder if that was for the dogs, or the people that keep them. ;-)

Aggressive dogs and their owners are always problems at dog parks. At Kroll Way we switched from evenings to mornings because of aggression. You might try early mornings: there is a pretty cohesive group of considerate owners. Sometimes a dog gets too rough, but the owner will quickly intervene. A German Shepherd had to have a time out and when that didn't work the owner took him home.

Unfortunately I stopped going to that dog park. There was a couple who brought their dogs on a regular basis and they would go after other people's dogs. Anyone who tried to talk to them about it would get yelled at by him or his wife.

We have not bee back there in several months, so maybe they are gone, but we just did not want to take the chance with our dogs.

I just wanted to comment on the name change with regards to the social security info.

From past experience I can tell you that you should check on your SSN every now and then for about a year after you send it the paperwork. My wife and I did not, and about three years later we got some nasty letters in the mail from the IRS regarding the fact that no one by my wife's new last name was in their records. so we had to back pedal a lot. If we had just paid more attention, we would have been OK.

I am so sorry for your loss. This is just another sign that there are sick, sad people out there. I try, really try not to be a hateful person, but people like this make it hard for me to to so. The people that killed your dog should be treated in the same way they treated your dog.

My wife and I have three mutts, all rescues and all just as important as children to us, since we do not have children.

I feel for you, friend... I really do. I wish there was something that I could do or say, but there just isn't. If I could make one suggestion, though... Adopt a new dog... a mutt... if possible, from a rescue shelter. It will not replace Murphy, but I think it will help the healing process.

GAS PRICES, SMOG & being over weight

I dont really see it as discriminating to healthy people.. If you look at it that way, then so would handycap parking. But laws were passed for that if you have a sticker.. What is the differance in parking & drive thrus ?
Or maybe more fast food places should go back to car hops.. Park & eat..
Myself I never use a drive thru. Not because I wanted to save gas or anything like that.. But because I never get the right order when I drive thru..
I live just off Ming ave.. where there is a drive thru on every corner..
Maybe cutting down on the number of drive thrus on any given block..
Gas prices are going up 10 cents a week here in Bakersfield..
But we keep paying, so it will keep going up.. You hear people say we should all get together and not buy gas for 1 day.. It will bring prices down..
No it wont.. we will just buy it the next day..
Big busnesses should offer small busses to pick up the people that work there..
If there is a building that has 200 people working in it. It should have a buss pick them up, then everyone take their own car..
More work places could cut down to 4 10 hour work weeks..
It would save everyone money..
But again a small place to start is with the drive thrus. Wether with a handycap sticker or car hops..

I understand what you are saying and I do agree with you, but there are many people with handicaps that use the drive-thrus who couldn't otherwise take advantage of some of the restaurants, myself included. Maybe exclude those that don't have handicap stickers, but then you would be discriminating against the healthy people who want to use the drive-thrus. It's sort of a no-win situation.
