Mom is moving
So my mom is moving to the Southwest part of town. She found a house that she is excited about. I am happy for her but am bummed that she won't be a hop-skip-jump away from me. My mom used to live about 5 minutes away from me. Now it will take me about 30 minutes to see her. She's moving into the outskirts of SW.
Bakersfield is growing so much that we don't realize how far it is to get places these days, well, except if you're driving down Rosedale or Truxtun Ext. Even Stockdale can be a bit busy. Now I need to figure out the quickest, and fastest way to her to her place. That would be helpful when you have three impatient boys, 3 months, 8 and 9-1/2, that are going in on the ride. I forgot to mention my husband who likes to tell me how to drive when I am driving... even tho I have a clean record! :-) 1 comments from 1 users

Taft Highway is the only uncogested route to the Southwest from #99. But even then you get the problem of Gosford and all those traffic lights at the Sam's Club. So head down Old River instead of Gosford.
